Future of the Russian tank fleet 2026

The Russian army has been gridlocked in Donbass for the past two years. Its only gains have been from small unit infantry infiltrations and even those have been with absurd casualties. We have seen armored assault attempts from individual “turtle tanks” to company level attacks, but none have been very successful and most have been stopped before even reaching the Ukrainian frontline positions. T-72B3M obr 2026   While the use, and thus losses, of tanks have been decreasing, the production of new tanks and modernization of existing ones by the Russian factories has continued at full capacity.
